Presidential Spokesperson: The Milk Menu In MBG Is Prioritized For Resulting Areas

JAKARTA - Presidential Spokesperson, Philips Vermonte explained, the provision of a milk menu in the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) is prioritized for areas that have cattle farming centers.

This is in line with the policy of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which adjusts the menu based on the potential of local resources.

"The statement from BGN is prioritized in places that have cattle centers," he said after reviewing the implementation of MBG at SLB Negeri 5, West Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 21.

Philips said the milk menu is prioritized in places that have cattle centers, such as Cimahi, West Java, and other areas that support the availability of milk.

Philips also could not confirm when the milk menu for the MBG Program in Jakarta could be fulfilled, considering that his area was not a milk producer.

"What is clear is that what is being carried out is a menu that has been prepared by BGN, so the important thing is that the nutritional needs are sufficient, it's not a matter of whether there is milk or not," he said.

The MBG program is currently running at 238 points of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) spread across 31 provinces. This number is expected to increase to 900 points in April and reach 2,000 points in August.

In addition, said Philips, the MBG food menu is evaluated and rotated every 20 days to ensure food variations and introduce Indonesian culinary diversity to students.

"This program is not just food, but also cultural events that prioritize the value of inclusion, solidarity, the tradition of praying together, and introducing various Indonesian culinary delights," he said.
