It Still Takes Time To Prepare The Material So The Reason The KPK Asks For Hasto's Pretrial Session To Be Postponed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) still needs time to prepare the pretrial lawsuit material against PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. Thus, the legal bureau team decided to submit a postponement request to the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

"The KPK Law Bureau has submitted a postponement of the pretrial hearing to the court because it still has to prepare court material ranging from experts to other administrative matters," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, January 21.

Tessa said that preparing all these needs to be coordinated with other parties needs to be done. So, the KPK needs more time.

"Which for this requires time to coordinate with related parties," he said.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta District Court's Single Judge Djuyamto decided that Hasto's pretrial hearing would be postponed for two weeks. The trial starts again on February 5.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

After becoming a suspect, Hasto's camp filed a pretrial lawsuit. This case is registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djuyamto acting as the sole judge.
