KPK Not Present, Hasto Pretrial Session Postponed February 5

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta District Court (PN) postponed the pretrial hearing of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto today, Tuesday, January 21. Djumanto's decision as the sole judge was made because the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as the respondent was not present.

"Therefore, we have postponed the pretrial case trial number 5 on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, with the agenda of recalling the respondent again because today he has not attended," said Judge Tunggal Djuyamto in the courtroom, Tuesday, January 21.

Djuanto explained that the KPK had written asking for a postponement of the trial since January 16 for three weeks. However, the judge decided that it was only two weeks because there was a long holiday.

"Well, for that we have acted to postpone it only for a maximum of 2 weeks. If we postpone it for a week, we have a holiday, a long holiday," he said.

Meanwhile, Ronny B. Talapessy as Hasto's attorney asked for a postponement of the trial for only 10 days on the grounds of efficiency. However, it was rejected because Djuanto as a judge already had other activities.

"Yes, the same will fall on 27 red, 28 red, 29 red, my 31st open exam, I happen to have an open test on solo. On 30 I have a corruption trial in Central Jakarta, so like it or not, we are on 4 or 5th," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

After becoming a suspect, Hasto's camp filed a pretrial lawsuit. This case is registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumanto acting as the sole judges.
