Lampung Prosecutor's Office Examines East Lampung Regent For 10 Hours

The Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) conducted an examination of the East Lampung Regent M Dawam Rahardjo (MDR) for 10 hours related to allegations of corruption in the construction/maintainment work of the Regent's office gate area in the 2022 fiscal year with a ceiling of Rp. 6,996,600,000.00.

"Today, the Lampung Attorney General's Office investigators have examined the witness brother of the MDR as the Regent of East Lampung regarding the construction of the gate area of the East Lampung Regent's office in East Lampung Regency," said Head of the Investigation Section (Kasidik) for Special Crimes at the Lampung Attorney General's Office, Masagus Rudy, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 20.

The Regent of East Lampung was examined and questioned regarding his main duties and functions as regional head in East Lampung Regency for alleged corruption in the construction/management of the gate area of the Regent's office.

"We will conduct an examination of the person concerned from 08.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB. We also give his right to rest," he said.

Masagus said that until now the Lampung Attorney General's Office investigators were still investigating the parties involved in this case and collecting evidence.

"Until now, we are still collecting evidence and asking for witness statements to strengthen the evidence to find the suspect," he said.

He revealed that during the examination of the MDR brother, the Lampung Attorney General's Office investigators gave at least 40 questions related to this case.

"Today, only the MDR brothers were examined as regional heads," he said.

Meanwhile, East Lampung Regent M Dawam Rahardjo was reluctant to provide information, and left the media crew just to enter the car with his legal adviser after being questioned by the Lampung Attorney General's Office.

It is known that the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) searched the houses of the Regent and Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of East Lampung Regency related to allegations of corruption in the construction/management work of the East Lampung Regent's office gate area in the 2022 fiscal year with a ceiling of Rp. 6,996,600,000.00.

The search at a number of locations in East Lampung was based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print- 10/L.8/Fd.2/11/2024 dated November 11, 2024.
