French PM Reminds Europe Not To Run Out, Must Fight America's Dominance In Trump's Hands

JAKARTA - French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou warned France and Europe as a whole must defend their position against the domination of US President-elect Donald Trump and his policies.

"The United States has decided to start a very dominating political form, through dollars, through its industrial policy, through the fact that the US can attract world investment and world research," Bayrou said.

"And if we do nothing, our fate is very simple - we will be dominated. We will be oppressed. We will be marginalized," he said.

"And how we reacted, it was a decision fully in the hands of the French and European people, because obviously, without Europe, we couldn't do anything," continued Bayrou.
