9 New Suspects Of Sugar Import Corruption, AGO: 7 Detained, 2 Hunted
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named nine new suspects in the alleged corruption case of importing sugar from the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) for the 2015-2016 period. Two of them are still being hunted.
The two suspects are HAT as director of PT DSI and ASB who is the President Director of PT KTM.
"Currently, a search is being carried out by the investigative team to find out where they are," said the Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO, Abdul Qohar, to reporters, Monday, January 20.
The two suspects are actually scheduled to undergo an examination at the AGO. However, they did not answer the call.
To narrow the space for the two suspects, the Immigration Office has issued a silt or penalty prevention at the request of investigators.
"Yes, nine of them were carried out a penalty one week ago," he said.
Meanwhile, the other seven suspects are said to have been detained for the next 20 days. They were detained in different locations.
The suspects TWN, WN, TSEP, and ES are being held at the Salemba detention center at the AGO branch. While others at the Salemba detention center branch of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office.
"For 9 people who have been named as suspects, 7 people have been detained," said Qohar.
