Joint officers from the police, and local government officials dismantled kiosks suspected of being used as places for selling illegal drugs in Banyuresmi District, Garut Regency, West Java, Monday, January 20.

The Head of the Banyuresmi Police, AKP Usep Heryaman, who led the demolition of the kiosk, said joint officers dismantled the building as a form of the government and the police's seriousness in eradicating the circulation of illegal drugs.

"This activity is a real step from the government and the police in eradicating the circulation of illegal drugs in the Banyuresmi area," he said at the location, Monday, January 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the demolition of the two kiosks was a follow-up to having previously carried out raids on the sale of illegal drugs in Banyuresmi.

Kiosk located on Jalan KH Hasan Arief, Sukareang Village, Banyuresmi District, he said, was dismantled as a firm action to enforce the rules and prevent the circulation of illegal drugs from happening again.

"The demolition of this kiosk is part of the Banyuresmi Sub-district Government's efforts to maintain security and order, and ensure that there is no more practice of buying and selling illegal drugs," he said.

He emphasized that the police together with local governments are committed to synergizing in fighting the circulation of illegal drugs in Garut to maintain public order, security, and comfort.

The police, he said, would continue to patrol, and follow up if there were reports from the public who knew or received information about the circulation of Goods.

"We will continue to take firm action against any illegal activities that harm the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sukareh Village, Iwan Ridwan, said that the kiosks in the area had previously been raided by the police because they were found to have sold illegal drugs used by a number of people to get drunk effects.

He supports the demolition so that there are no more practices of drug trafficking that are sold to the public because it will endanger health and also disrupt security.

"The raids and demolition of these kiosks are to save the younger generation from drug abuse, because drugs can be destroyed," he said.

Previously, the police arrested two people selling illegal drugs, along with evidence of hundreds of white Doble Y and yellow Hexymer drugs and Tramadol.
