PTPP Successfully Makes Green Innovation On The Semarang-Demak Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), as one of the contractors for the Semarang-Demak Toll project Section 1, received a working visit from the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and the Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo on Saturday 11 January 2025.

This visit is an important moment to review the progress of toll road construction which not only functions as transportation infrastructure, but also as a solution to the problem of tidal flooding in the northern coastal area of Java.

During the visit, Coordinating Minister AHY expressed his hope that this project would be able to provide long-term benefits for the community.

"Hopefully, this toll road will not only facilitate mobility and increase productivity, but also provide a sense of security for people who have been affected by tidal flooding," said Coordinating Minister AHY.

The Semarang-Demak toll road project is in the spotlight because of the unique innovation implemented by PTPP, namely the use of bamboo mattresses as the foundation of toll roads. This innovation not only strengthens the road structure, but also supports environmental sustainability. The bamboo used has the potential to become a new habitat for marine biota, in line with PTPP's commitment to building quality and environmentally friendly infrastructure.

The President Director of PTPP, Novel Arsyad, who also accompanied this visit, emphasized that this innovation is a tangible manifestation of the effective, efficient, and sustainable use of local materials.

"We prove that natural materials such as bamboo can be combined with modern technology to produce solid and environmentally friendly infrastructure," he explained.

PTPP is committed to completing this project on time and still prioritizing the quality and safety of work. It is hoped that this toll road will not only be a flood rob solution, but also a driving force for the regional economy.
