3 Special Menu Presented At Donald Trump's Inauguration Event

JAKARTA - On January 20, 2025, after Donald Trump was sworn in as President of the United States, he will attend a special lunch at the US Capitol Building. The event was organized by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC).

Although the details of the menu for the 2025 event have not been announced, when referring to previous traditions, guests usually enjoy a three-menu dish. Reported by VOI from the Fox News page on Monday, January 20, 2025, the menu consists of a seafood-based opening dish, a main dish in the form of meat, and a cover that most likely involves ice cream.

Because Trump now lives in Florida, it is possible that the lunch menu will be influenced by the state's distinctive taste. In addition, there may also be a meal that reflects the origin of Vice President JD Vance from Ohio.

In 2017, at the last inauguration lunch, Trump and about 200 guests enjoyed three special dishes. The opening dish in the form of Maine lobsters and bay shrimp with saffron sauce and peanut sprinkles.

The main dish is Seven Hills Angus grilled beef with black chocolate and juniper sauce, served with gratuine potatoes. The cover is a chocolate souffle with vanila cerium ice cream.

The 2017 menu is similar to the inauguration lunch menu of President Barack Obama in 2013. At that time, guests enjoyed New England's cucus lobster and rice soup, followed by grilled bison, red potato cake with hubleberry sauce, and a cover in the form of Hudson Valley apple pie with acid cream ice, old cheese, and honey.

Interestingly, the last inauguration lunch that did not include ice cream in the closing menu was at the inauguration of President George W. Bush in 2005. At that time, the closing menu was a cukus lemon with an apple and cherries compote.

The inauguration lunch tradition first started in 1897, but the modern format only started in 1953.

According to the JCCIC website, that year, Presidentship D. Eisenhower, First Lady, and 50 other guests enjoyed grilled chicken cream, ham and potatoes in the Senate's old room which has now been repaired. Currently, the lunch event is held at the Statuary Hall.

The inauguration lunch often reflects the distinctive taste of the states of the origin of the President and Vice President, or the theme of the inauguration itself. The event also includes speeches, gifts from JCCIC, and respect for the new government.

The theme of the inauguration in 2025 is 'Our Enduring Democracy: A Constitutional Promise' or 'Our Long Lasting Democracy: Constitutional Promise.' According to JCCIC, this theme recognizes the commitment of the nation's founders to maintain the continuity and stability of the democratic government system for future generations.
