Becoming The Longest KFC Employee In The World, This Grandmother Works For 47 Years

JAKARTA - A 74-year-old grandmother from Somerset, England has listed her name as the world's longest-serving KFC employee. A grandmother named Pauline Richards, who has worked in this fast food restaurant for 47 years, is known as a person who always serves with a smile.

During his career at the Taunton branch of KFC, England, he is estimated to have served more than six million chicken drums and millions of other chicken wing cut.

Pauline now holds the title as the longest-serving employee at KFC, surpassing the previous record held by Lorena Neely of the United States, who worked at KFC from 1976 - 2023.

Pauline started her career at KFC as a janitor in the 1970s. Over time, she fills various roles, ranging from cashiers, supervisors, team leaders, to managers. Now, despite being a member of the regular team again, Pauline remains a figure who is known and respected in her team.

Locals in Taunton even call her 'Miss KFC', 'Mother', or 'Nenek'. Loyal customers often come to restaurants just to meet him.

"They were looking for me, and if I was resting, they asked me to come down and say hello," Pauline said, quoted by VOI from the Daily Mail page on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Pauline admitted that she had no plans to retire in the near future. He likes his job and feels KFC has provided a good work environment for him.

KFC never disappoints me. If there's a problem, I can always talk to the manager. I like to work here because our team is compact and our customers are amazing," he said.

Pauline is also known for her friendly attitude and always tries to help customers.

"I always make sure customer orders are right. They often say, 'Never stop working here. You know what to do, and you're always friendly.' he added.

Pauline's warm personality made her a respected figure in Taunton. Children often call her 'Miss KFC' while she is resting. In fact, teenagers sing his name on the weekend. Customers also feel lost when Pauline is not working.

"If I'm on vacation, they're wondering where I am," he said.

KFC describes Pauline as an important and role model. This has created a legacy that will make KFC founder Colonel Sanders.
