Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Hiatus From Australian Market, Here's The Reason
JAKARTA - Mitsubishi reportedly led to the production of the Pajero Sport SUV in Australia until the birth of the latest generation. This is because the tough car does not comply with the latest safety rules in the country.
Reporting from Drive, Monday, January 20, the current production of Pajero Sport has ended because it does not comply with the rules requiring Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) technology on all new vehicles starting March 1.
Although the SUV is equipped with an AEB car-to-car, which is a safety feature that uses sensors to detect potential collisions with other vehicles and brakes automatically, it does not appear to match the specifications required by the regulator.
The manufacturer with the logo of the three diamonds will continue to sell the latest generation Pajero Sport with stock coming before March until all of its units are sold.
Not only Pajero Sport, models such as Eclipse Cross and the latest generation ASX are the other victims of the regulation. Thus, Mitsubishi will only sell Triton and Outlander as its flagship vehicle in Australia.
