Barcelona Detained By Getafe 1-1, Failed To Cut Distance At The Top Of The Standings

JAKARTA Barcelona must be satisfied with sharing points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Getafe in the 2024/25 week LaLiga match at the Alfonso Perez Stadium, Sunday 19 January morning WIB.

Barcelona took the lead with Jules Kunde's goal in the 9th minute, but Mauro Arambarri equalized for Getafe in the 34th minute. This result saw Barcelona fail to cut the gap with two of its competitors, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, in the standings.

Currently, Hansi Flick's side are in third place with 39 points, four points behind Real Madrid in second and five points from Atletico Madrid who lead the standings.

Barcelona appeared aggressive from the start and opened the scoring through Jules Kunde. Starting from Pedri's through ball, Kounde managed to stab into the penalty box and shot from close range to change the score to 1-0.

After the goal, Barcelona continued to press for additional goals. However, Getafe, who played solidly in the defense, began to launch an effective counter-attack.

In the 34th minute, Getafe equalized. A cross from Alena was followed by Da Costa's hard volley. Although goalkeeper Inaki Pena was able to parry it, the ball bounced towards Mauro Arambarri, who easily scored to change the score to 1-1.

Entering the second half, Barcelona again dominated possession. However, Getafe's tight defense made it difficult for the Blaugrana to create dangerous opportunities.

On the other hand, in the last 10 minutes of the game, Getafe created more chances, although there were no additional goals until the long whistle sounded.
