MRT Jakarta Shortens The Headway Between Trains In Busy Hours To 5 Minutes Once During Ramadan

JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta changes the operating hours of the Ratangga train during Ramadan. Starting tomorrow, the time interval between trains (headway) during rush hour is shortened to every 5 minutes.

Acting Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Ahmad Pratomo said that this change in time follows the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency number 157 of 2021 concerning the Extension of Transport Capacity Limitation and Operational Time for Transportation Facilities in the Context of Micro-based PPKM.

"Headway during weekdays is every five minutes for peak hours, 07.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB and 17.00 WIB until 19.00 WIB," Ahmad said in his statement, Sunday, April 18.

Meanwhile, the headway outside peak hours on Monday-Friday remains every 10 minutes. Likewise with the headway on weekends every 10 minutes.

Then, operational hours from Monday to Friday start at 05.00 WIB until 23.00 WIB. On weekends, operating hours start at 06.00 WIB until 21.00 WIB.

"The limit on the number of users is 70 people per train," said Ahmad.

Ahmad appealed to MRT users to be disciplined in implementing health protocols in the MRT Jakarta environment, such as the obligation to wear masks, guard

distance between users, diligently washing hands, and not talking, either one or two directions, while inside the train and station platform area.
