Dozens Of Residents' Houses In Riau Silip Bangka Are Flooded
JAKARTA - Dozens of houses in Riau Silip District, Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands, were flooded due to the high intensity of rain from morning to noon.
Secretary of Riau Silip Sub-district, Yasir Mustafa, said that the floods that submerged dozens of residents' houses were caused by high rainfall.
"Flooding with a height of approximately 40 centimeters has not only submerged dozens of residents' houses, but has entered the main road which has hampered vehicle traffic," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, January 18.
He reminded the public to stay alert because the rain was still heavy and to anticipate the overflow of water.
"Currently, flood-affected communities are receiving assistance from Laskar Sekaban volunteers and other parties," he said.

Rainfall, which was high from morning to noon, was almost evenly distributed from Sungailiat City to Pangkalpinang City, which resulted in water entering parts of the road between the two cities.
