The Names Of 95 Palestinians Who Will Be Free On Sunday Are Announced By Israel
JAKARTA - A list of 95 Palestinians who will be released on Sunday (19/1) in the first phase according to the Gaza ceasefire agreement was broadcast by Israeli law authorities.
The list includes women and youth aged up to 25 years.
Khalida Jarrar, a prominent leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine as well as a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (parlemen), is included in the list.
As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, January 18, it was also listed on the list, namely journalist Bushra Al-Taweel, who was previously released in a prisoner swap between Hamas and Israel in 2011.
She is the daughter of senior Hamas leader Jamal Al-Taweel, who once served as mayor in the city of Al-Bireh, West Bank.
Among the women who will be released are Dalal al-Arouri, the sister of Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas who died in an Israeli attack in January last year.
Meanwhile, Zaher Jabarin, head of the Syuhada Office and Hamas Detention Center, on Friday met with Qaddoura Fares, head of the Prisoners and Former Detention Authority, to discuss the development of the Gaza ceasefire and the prisoner swap deal, as well as arrangements for the acceptance of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons as part of the deal.
On Friday, January 17, Israeli authority leader Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the security cabinet had approved the prisoner swap deal and the ceasefire.
Qatar on Wednesday announced a three-stage deal to end more than 15 months of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 47,000 people and destroyed the region.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) last November issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and his former Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, for crimes of war and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing genocide lawsuits at the International Court (ICJ) over the region's war.
