Rows Of Leaders To Celebrities To Be Present At Trump's Inauguration
JAKARTA - Donald Trump will return to set foot in the White House as President of the United States after being sworn in as the 47th US president in Washington DC on Monday (20/1) the day after tomorrow.
The inauguration ceremony is said to be packed with so many politicians and world leaders, including all former US presidents who are still alive, state leaders, and the world's richest entrepreneurs.
Here are those who will attend as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Saturday, January 18.
The former presidents
The former US presidents, as is the current tradition, will attend their next inauguration ceremony.
President Joe Biden, who will hand over the reins of US leadership to his successor, will attend the inauguration, even though Donald Trump himself -- who was defeated by Biden in the 2020 presidential election -- refused to attend Biden's inauguration ceremony in 2021.
Barack Obama will attend to the inauguration of Donald Trump's second. However, his wife, Michelle Obama, was reportedly not going to attend, and his team did not reveal the reason for his absence.
Meanwhile, former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, along with their respective wives, are also certain to attend.
The millionaires
The world's three richest entrepreneurs, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, will be part of the attendance at Trump's inauguration on Monday.
Zuckerberg's Amazon and Meta companies have even donated up to $1 million each for Trump's inauguration.
TikTok CEO Shou Chew is also said to be accepting an invitation to attend Trump's inauguration which was held a day after the social media application was banned from operating in the US due to failing to find a new owner who is not from China.
According to Politico, TikTok has spent 50 thousand US dollars on Trump's inauguration party.
Trump previously expressed his desire to "accompany" TikTok. He also reportedly discussed the app in a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
Apart from them, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Uber Technologies CEO Dara Khosrowshahi will also be honorary guests at Trump's inauguration ceremony.
Foreign guests
Donald Trump is said to have invited El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Argentine President Javier Milei for his inauguration ceremony.
He also reportedly invited President Xi, but Xi will be represented by Vice President Han Zheng on January 20.
Meanwhile, no Russian official will attend Trump's inauguration, as confirmed by Kremlin official, Yury Ushakov. However, he said that Russian power of business in the US would be present if invited.
Japan will be represented by Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya.
In addition, a number of leaders of Europe's extreme right political movement have reportedly been invited to the inauguration of Trump.
Among them, an Alternative party official for Germany (AFD) Tino Chrupalla, reportedly already on its way to Washington, and France's leader of the Reconquete party, Eric Zemmour.
Celebrities
Among popular figures and celebrities invited to attend Trump's inauguration ceremony were YouTube activists Logan and Jake Paul who were brothers, as well as actress and model Amber Rose.
In addition, UFC boxing promoter CEO Dana White, and television host Megyn Kelly were also invited, TMZ reported.
