Scottish Manchester United Legend Denis Law Dies

JAKARTA - Denis Law died at the age of 84. He is a legend soccer player from Manchester United and Scotland.

This was reported through the Manchester United website on Saturday night WIB.

"It is with a heavy heart that we convey that our father Denis Law has passed away. He has fought hard, but in the end he is now in peace," the family quoted Antara as saying.

Law has made 404 appearances and scored a total of 237 goals during 11 years playing for Manchester United from 1962 to 1973.

He is the player with the third-highest goal of all time Manchester United after Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton.

While at MU, Law won the first division titles in 1965 and 1967.

Manchester United said they mourned the loss of "King Stretford End" - the stands at Old Trafford where the statue of Law was founded.

"He will always be celebrated as one of the greatest and most loved players at this club. His best goalscorers, talents, passions, and love for this game make him the hero of this generation," wrote Manchester United.

"Our deepest condolences extend to Denis' family and many friends. His memories will live forever."
