Perum Bulog Targets Absorb 1.4 Million Tons Of Rice During Greater Penen
JAKARTA - Perum Bulog targets to absorb 1.4 million tons of rice in the first harvest season which will take place in March and April this year. This amount is equivalent to 70 percent of the total target of 2 million tons of rice absorption in 2025.
"1.4 million tons is equivalent to rice from (assuming) 2 million. The letter from the assignment is 2 million tons. So in our RAP it makes our procurement calculation in 2 million tons with the hope of 3 million tons," said Bulog Corporate Secretary Arwakhudin, in Jakarta, Friday, January 17.
Arwakhudin said the absorption of 1.4 million tons of rice at this year's harvest will be divided into three types, namely harvested dry unhulled rice (GKP), milling dry unhulled rice (GKG), and rice.
The distribution of this absorption jesin, Arwakhudin, said it was done because each type of commodity had different needs. He said, rice was absorbed directly to be distributed in the form of food assistance and SPHP.
Meanwhile, the milled dry grain is absorbed because it can be stored longer before it is processed into rice. Meanwhile, this dry harvest unhulled rice is absorbed directly from farmers in order to provide benefits to farmers.

"That's why we provide the mobility in our warehouse in three forms. So there are those that are fast, some need to process and some touch the farmers," he explained.
After the absorption, Arwakhudin said that his party hoped that an assignment was given by the government to Bulog so that the absorbed rice could be distributed.
"Our hope is that there is actually distribution of food aid. So there is a reduction in stock in warehouses, so new ones can be entered," he said.
