Motorcycle Gang Action In Jambi Causes 1 Coma, Police Arrest 4 Suspected Perpetrators

JAKARTA - The Jambi Police revealed a case of an attack by a group of motorized delinquents in Jambi City which resulted in one victim being in a coma.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Jambi Police, Kombes Manang Soebeti, said that after the attack on Monday, January 13, the police were hunting for the perpetrators of the attack who were members of a motorcycle gang. There were four suspected perpetrators who were arrested at different locations.

The police said the recent background of the motorized delinquent attack was a personal grudge.

One of the perpetrators who threw stones had a grudge against the victim named Agus. However, the stone hit another victim who was being carried by Agus.

"The target is Agus, but instead it hit the back of the victim who was being carried by Agus," he said.

Manang said the perpetrators were still school students. Even so, the perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions. He ensured that this case would be continued until the trial.

The attack took place on Monday night in Kendali Besar, Kota Baru, Jambi City, at around 23.00 WIB.

The attack was spread on social media. Two victims, Sulthon and Agus were passing through the area. Suddenly there were five motorized vehicles suspected of being motorcycle gangs approaching them.

From the video circulating, one of the perpetrators threw stones hard from the top of the motorbike hitting the back of the victim's head and lost consciousness. Currently, the victim is still being treated at the hospital.
