Calls Pagar Laut Not A Theft, Commission II Of The DPR Asks The Minister Of ATR Not To Leave Their Hands

JAKARTA - Member of Commission II DPR RI Indrajaya responded to the statement by the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid which stated that the construction of a sea fence in Tangerang waters had not yet been categorized as land theft. Indra also asked Nusron not to let go of the mysterious marine fence case.

According to Indrajaya, the construction of the sea fence is clearly an effort to control land above the sea in Tangerang waters. If land control on land uses stakes, he said, then land control in the sea uses a sea fence.

"The sea hashtag is clearly a marker to control the land. They want to control land at sea for certain purposes. Why should it be fenced if there is no economic interest?," said Indrajaya, Friday, January 17.

The PKB legislator for the South Papua electoral district said that the case of the sea fence was very clear on the requirements for the big economic interests behind it, so there were entrepreneurs who financed it.

Moreover, he said, the marine fence project cost a lot of money. If one meter costs Rp. 500 thousand, then the budget spent is around Rp. 15 billion.

Therefore, Indrajaya urged the Minister of ATR to actively investigate the case and coordinate with other ministries or agencies. Such as the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), the police, and other parties, because the problem is related to many parties.

"The Minister of ATR should not only wait for reports from other agencies. Do not let the Minister of ATR let go," said Indrajaya.

Indra also asked the government not to cover up the case. The government, he stressed, must open to the public who paid for it and why the sea fence was built, so that there is no negative suspicion against the government.

"This is actually an easy matter. The sea fence is visible. The public also knows the construction process. There is no way the relevant agencies don't know about it. Please don't cover it up," he said.

"Do not let there be efforts to control land for the sea reclamation project secretly," concluded Indrajaya.

Previously, Minister of ATR Nusron Wahid likened the construction of a 30.16 kilometer sea fence in the waters of Tangerang Regency to a situation where thieves who had not acted to steal something, so that no party could be prosecuted.

Nusron also admitted that his party had not yet received a report on whether the fence was built in the context of a reclamation project. According to him, the person who said the fence was made for reclamation is still an allegation.
