Exports Of Non-Oil And Gas Processing Reached 196.54 Billion US Dollars, Minister Of Industry: Consistent Manufacturing Becomes The Highest Contributor
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that Indonesia's export performance is still supported by the manufacturing industry.
Agus said this can be seen from the achievement of the national export value throughout 2024 which stated that the export performance of the non-oil and gas processing industry reached 196.54 billion US dollars or contributed 74.25 percent of the total national export value which reached 264.70 billion US dollars.
"This means that our manufacturing industry sector is consistently the highest contributor to Indonesia's export performance. Moreover, in the midst of uncertain global economic and political conditions, national industry players remain aggressive in penetrating the export market to various countries," Agus said as quoted from his official statement, Friday, January 17.
He explained, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the export value of the non-oil and gas processing industry in 2024 will increase by 5.33 percent compared to 2023. Thus, the non-oil and gas processing industry will also play a role in the achievement of surplus value in Indonesia's trade balance of 31.04 billion US dollars in 2024.
According to Agus, the government is determined to create a conducive business climate, so that industry players in Indonesia are increasingly enthusiastic about running their business.

"The increase in exports is the key to building our economy. In this case, downstreaming plays a major role in achieving these targets, by increasing the added value of domestic raw materials. Moreover, the government is focusing on increasing added value in the country for a number of raw commodities," he said.
The Minister of Industry added that his party will continue to run an industrial downstream program focused on upstream industrial groups, namely the upstream agro industry, the basic metal industry and non-metal excavation materials as well as the oil and gas and coal industries.
