India Open 2025: Fajar/Rian Tumbang
JAKARTA - Men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto fell in the second round of the India Open 2025.
They packed suitcases after losing against Kittinupong Kedren/Dechapol Puavaranukroh 22-24, 21-16, and 16-21 on Thursday, January 16, 2025, WIB night.
"The Thai couple played very well, the defense was very good and very patient," said Rian in a statement received from PBSI Public Relations.
Fajar/Rian actually got the game point in the first game after trying to get up from behind. Unfortunately, they missed the critical points.

"Unfortunately, we couldn't convert the first game into a win when we were in a superior position," said Rian.
This result also worsened Fajar/Rian's record earlier this year. Previously, at the Malaysia Open 2025 last week, they even lost earlier in the first round.
Fajar/Rian will next play at the Indonesia Masters 2025 next week at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
"In these two early tournaments, we haven't performed well enough. So, we want to try to get back to performance first. At the Indonesia Masters, hopefully we can give a much better one," said Fajar.
Fajar/Rian are one of two Indonesian representatives who returned home in the second half. They were eliminated along with Dejan Ferdinansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
