Iran's Revolutionary Guard Considers Gaza's Armistice A Great Victory Of Palestine's Resistance

JAKARTA - Iran's Revolutionary Guard called the ceasefire in Gaza a "big win" for the Palestinian resistance. Iran warned of possible violations by Israel.

Palestinian armed groups Hamas and Israel reached an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza that the mediators said would take effect on Sunday, January 19.

The agreement regulates the release of Israeli hostages detained there for 15 months of war that destroyed the region and killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.

"Finally the war and the imposition of a ceasefire against the Zionist regime (Israel) was a clear and major victory for Palestine and a greater defeat to the Zionist regime," the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement.

Iran and its allied non-state armed groups in areas such as the Houthis in Yemen and the Hezbollah in Lebanon have supported Hamas during the conflict.

The resistance remains, evolves, is strong and has deeper confidence in the divine promise to free the mosques al-Aqsa and Jerusalem, the Revolutionary Guard said, stressing that they are still making preparations in the field for "wars and new crimes".

Meanwhile, through X, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the resistance of Palestine and Iran-backed "Poros" succeeded in forcing Israel to "resign."

The war in Gaza sparked conflict in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq, and raised fears of an all-out war between regional enemies of Israel and Iran.

In November, Hezbollah and Israel agreed to a ceasefire weeks after the conflict escalated and led to the killing of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasollah in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
