Preventing Spectator Age Violations, LSF And Indonesian Cinemas Launch Satellite Applications
JAKARTA - The Film Censorship Institute (LSF) said that there were still spectators who watched films that did not match their age classification. Responding to this, the Head of the LSF Monitoring Division, Erlan Basri, said that currently the LSF is developing an application called Satellite.
"We are also working with the cinema through the application we developed, namely the Satellite. We hope that this application can be launched in 2025," said Erlan Basri in the Dharmawangsa area, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 16.
"Later on, this system will allow cinemas to report findings of violations of the age category directly, which is our note in the field of monitoring," he continued.
He explained that one of the obstacles to monitoring the classification of the age of the audience was the purchase of tickets online.
"We found that in the field there were those that were not in accordance with the age category. When we discussed it with the cinema, it was a bit difficult. On the one hand, online ticket purchases made control over the age category limited," he said.
The cinema also complained that the absence of strict sanctions against violators made it easy to violate the age category.

"When there are children under certain age categories who enter the cinema, it is difficult for cinemas to detain them, because there are no strict sanctions that can be applied," he explained.
So far, the LSF has taken precautions with a persuasive approach through an independent censorship culture.
"Until now, the steps we have taken are a persuasive approach through an independent censorship culture. That is the first thing we are trying to do," he said.
