Fire Occurs At Glodok Plaza Tamansari, A Big Fire

Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Syarifudin, confirmed that the fire broke out at the Glodok Plaza building, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

"Yes (the fire at Glodok Plaza). We are heading to the location," Syarif said by telephone quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 15.

Based on a video shared by the @jnofluffy X (Twitter) account, the fire seemed to eat the top of the building. Black smoke soared high into the air.

A number of residents were also seen watching the fire from a distance.

Information from the DKI Jakarta Fire Department CommandCenter stated that the object that caught fire was a discotheque on the 7th floor of GlodokPlaza. The fire broke out at around 21.22 WIB.

Until now, the West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Gulkarmat deployed a number of fire engines to extinguish the fire that burned the top of the building.
