Secrets Of Starting A Healthy Lifestyle Easy
JAKARTA - On the way to a healthy lifestyle, many people face obstacles between knowledge and practice. Dr. Ida Gunawan, MS SpGK(K), Consultant Clinical Nutrition Specialist, highlighted that although many people understand the importance of eating the right diet and proper exercise, its implementation is often not optimal.
"Concert must eat properly, exercise is right. They all know, but only know. They can't afford it, they don't know what to do," said dr. Ida when met on Jl. Benteng Field, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
One of the misunderstandings that dr often encounters. Ida is a negative stigma against rice as a staple food. Many people consider rice as the main cause of weight gain, so they choose to avoid it at all.
"I think the patient came to my place and they said they didn't eat rice. They blamed the rice that made it fat. The ancestors have been eating rice for a long time," said dr. Ida.
However, he stressed that what needs to be considered is not the presence of rice in the diet, but the amount and way of consumption.
"The ones who are concerned, how much rice do they consume? Is rice with fried foods because they don't have time, because they go to work? Or why?" he explained.
According to dr. Ida, rice can still be part of a healthy diet as long as it is consumed in the amount that suits the body's energy needs and is balanced with sources of protein, fiber, and healthy fat.
Dr. Ida also highlighted the importance of improving your diet and choosing sports that suit each individual's health conditions.
"The diet is repaired. If you want them to be healthier, accommodate them, not only lifting the burden Monday to Friday. But they have to do aerobics, cardio, see health conditions," he added.
He explained that sports that are too monotonous or do not match the needs of the body can actually cause new problems. Therefore, variations in exercise and evaluation of health conditions are the key in maintaining fitness.
In the discussion, dr. Ida emphasized the importance of prevention as the first step towards a healthy lifestyle. Many patients come to consult on how to maintain health before more serious problems arise.
"The convention is now the initial crown for people wanting to adopt a healthy lifestyle. I have a lot of patients they want to ask how to maintain their health condition, what sport to do," he said.
Prevention includes not only diet and exercise, but also routine health checks to understand the body's needs specifically.
Dr. Ida emphasized that a personal approach is very important in a healthy lifestyle. Each individual has different health needs and conditions, so there is no single solution that applies to everyone.
"Health of personal life. You and I are different, never cheat. Why? What is good for other people is not necessarily good for yourself. There is an examination." he explained.
