Update On COVID-19 As Of April 17: Additional New Cases Of 5,041, The Most In DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 64,838 specimens were examined with the results of 5,041 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,599,763 people and active cases fell to 106,245 with a decrease of 1,054 cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, April 16.

Today's cases increased by 5,963 cases, so that a total of 1,450,192 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases that died increased by 132 people and the total was 43,328 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta which has 1,037 cases with a total of 398,125 cases. Then followed by West Java with 832 cases with a total of 266,118 cases and Central Java with 518 with a total of 178,060.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,818 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 999 cases recovered, DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 885 recovered cases, and West Java with an increase of 696 cases recovered.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 13,776,810, with details of 12,696,368 specimens examined by RT-PCR, 169,114 specimens examined by TCM, and 91,328 specimens examined with antigen.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.77 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 60,699 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, for the number of vaccinations, the total target set as vaccine recipients reached 40,349,049 people. Of these, 95,060 people have been vaccinated for the first stage, bringing the total to 10,801,244. Meanwhile, the second vaccine today was followed by 69,770 people and the total was 5,889,716 people.
