JAKARTA - Changes in a healthy lifestyle usually require consistency and discipline. However, the success rate cannot be 100 percent, maybe even 70 to 60 percent depending on the regularity of making lifestyle changes.

In this regard, the Chairman of the Indonesian Clinical Nutrition Doctors Association (PDGKI Jaya) dr. Ida Gunawan MS SpGK (K) FINEM said, there is an elementary pyramid level that determines lifestyle changes, namely yourself, expert assistance and invasive.

"There are two Lifestyle channels, some are done by ourselves and some need help, those who need coach, both the doctor here will make a meal plan, later the one who will translate is dietitian," Ida said as quoted by ANTARA.

Self-regulated lifestyles also usually find daily and error before finally needing the help of a doctor or coach in order to determine a suitable diet and activity.

He reminded that if lifestyle changes are made on its own and look at social media, it is necessary to check credible literature sources based on scientific evidence. Initial screening also needs to be done to determine health conditions and the risk of chronic diseases.

If the personal and expert assistance do not show satisfactory results, lifestyle change planning can be carried out to the medical phase or with the help of drugs.

"So there will be a lab examination, we will do a physical examination, we will give additional supplements, either supplements or if necessary medicines and so on," said Ida.

Treatment must be with a doctor's prescription and in accordance with the overall health condition, then it needs a complete laboratory examination to determine the right dose.

The last step, if it has not yet reached the expected results, will be invasive actions such as surgery by issuing fat. This step is usually taken in obese patients.

In addition, Ida also suggested that from a young age they carry out physical activities and avoid the identity lifestyle.

"This means diet and sports, activities, here become basic human life," he said.
