BI Reveals Money Circulating To Reach IDR 1,204 Trillion By The End Of 2024

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) said that until the end of 2024, the total money distributed (UYD) in the community reached Rp1,204 trillion. This figure is up 9.3 percent when compared to 2023.

"So basically in 2024 the position will be IDR 1,204 trillion, an increase of around 9.3 percent compared to last year," said Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Doni P Joewono at a press conference, Wednesday, January 15.

In addition, Doni said that the circulation of money circulated by Bank Indonesia in the form of non-cash-less society transactions reached Rp1,064 trillion, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to the previous year.

"For the circulation of money, BI's money consisting of cash-less society banks reached Rp. 1,064 trillion, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to last year," said Doni.

Meanwhile, Doni also conveyed that developments related to cash or cash and hold circulating in the community had increased.

"Then is cash and hold, yes, there is money in there, the position is trillion, it is up 7 percent compared to last year," he added.

Therefore, Doni said BI would continue to ensure the availability of good quality money and in sufficient quantities to support the needs of the community.
