Minister Of MSMEs Threatens To Close Marketplaces That Do Not Support MSME Progress
JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman threatened to close the marketplace that did not support the progress and development of MSME businesses.
"Markets that do not contribute, which do not side with the interests of our MSMEs, the Ministry of MSMEs will close the digital media. I say this in front of all people," said Maman in his remarks at the inauguration of Middle and Primary officials of the Ministry of MSMEs at Tanah Abang Market, Wednesday, January 15.
Maman said that currently MSME companies are faced with the harsh reality of the flow of technology and digital media, so support from the marketplace is needed.
He asked business actors to adapt and enter digital media in order to increase sales turnover.
"If you are not pro to their interests (MSMEs), do not encourage the contribution or production of local products, be careful. We just need to coordinate with the Minister of Communication and Culture and close (marketplace)," said Maman.
Furthermore, Maman said, MSMEs have a strategic role in the Indonesian economy.
By absorbing about 97 percent of the workforce and having extraordinary resilience when the crisis hit.

"This target will be better off if we provide full support to MSMEs as motors for national economic growth," said Maman.
