Anies Asks Residents To Monitor Food Prices At IPJ, An Application Launched By Ahok

JAKARTA - Approaching the commemoration of Christmas 2019 and New Year 2020, there are concerns about rising food prices, especially in DKI Jakarta. The Governor of DKI Jakarta suggested downloading the Jakarta Food Info application (IPJ), an application launched by the former governor of DKI Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in June 2014. With this application, Jakarta residents can find out information on food prices in the market.

"I recommend everyone to use the IPJ. With this information, we can find out the condition of the prices of basic necessities in Jakarta in real time," said Anies at City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Wednesday, November 27.

As long as food prices can be monitored through the application, the DKI Provincial Government will hold a coordination meeting to maintain stock and price stability of staples. As a result, all basic necessities are within safe limits until Christmas and New Year 2019.

Of the 120 thousand residents of Jakarta, it is predicted that the need for rice each week reaches 15,846 tons, 78 tons of peanuts, 636 tons of red onions, 492 tons of red chilies, 1,317 tons of beef, 2,279 tons of chicken, 1,717 tons of chicken eggs, 1,333 tons of sugar, and cooking oil 1,541 tons.

However, Pemprov's analysis shows that there is an upward trend in demand for the availability of staples of around 5 percent. Food stock from December to New Year 2020 there is an increase in demand for staples; covering 83,191 tons of rice, 410 tons of peanuts, 3,340 tons of red onions, 2,581 tons of chili, 6,915 tons of beef, 11,965 tons of purebred chicken, 9,015 tons of chicken eggs, 6,997 tons of sugar and 8,093 tons of cooking oil.

"When asked what I think about the most every day, the price of Jakarta's staple foods, because this affects the lives of our citizens," said Anies.

We then tried to download the Jakarta Food Info application via a mobile device. No need to spend a lot of internet quota to download because the size of the application is only around 8 megabytes. The rating embedded in this application is 4.5 stars.

When opening the application, there are several feature components that will be accessed, such as food price info which is updated every 10.00 WIB. The fourth feature is Market. Users can check food info from each market, in contrast to the Price Info feature which is the average food info from all markets listed in the application. Initially there were only 13 markets listed in Info Pangan Jakarta, and now it has grown to 48 markets.
