Ministry Of Health: Active BPJS Is Important For Free Health Checks
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of active participation of the Health Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) which needs to be prepared for beneficiaries of the Free Health Examination Program (PKG) on birthdays.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Working Team for the Primary Health Service Integration of the Ministry of Health, Rima Damayanti, in the Ministry of Health's Webinar Series agenda in Jakarta, Monday, January 13.
"The screening may be free because there is government assistance as well. But this follow-up must be adjusted to BPJS's participation, for example, there are diabetes follow-up and others," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
For people who experience problems in activation of BPJS Kesehatan membership, said Rima, the Ministry of Health has given a deadline of 30 days from the date of birth for reactivation of membership or registering.
"We will send PKG notification via WhatsApp H-30 so that people who do not have BPJS Health or are not active can register first," he said.
The PKG implementation site on birthdays for newborns is carried out in health service facilities that serve childbirth, both first-level health facilities (FKTP) and follow-up health facilities (FKTL).
"PKG on Birthdays for other age groups is held at FKTP in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan," he said.

Meanwhile, the PKG laboratory examination for newborns is carried out in a predetermined network laboratory.
Laboratory examinations at PKG for other age groups are carried out at FKTP and Community Health Laboratory (Labkesmas). Labkesmas is a reference place for examining screening specimens that cannot be carried out at the Puskesmas.
"Other facilities can participate in the implementation of PKG under the coordination of the district/city health offices and local health centers," he said.
