Menpora Zainudin Amali Asks Organizers Of Menpora Cup To Continue To Discipline Health Protocols

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali appreciated the Menpora Cup for being disciplined in implementing health protocols during the match.

Menpora Amali asked the organizers, namely PT LIB and PSSI to continue to maintain the Prokes in the remaining matches until the final, so that the competition can continue with the existence of League 1 and League 2.

"The government appreciates the holding of the Menpora Cup and the implementation of its health protocol," said Menpora Zainudin Amali while attending the first leg of the Menpora Cup semifinal between Persib Bandung vs PS Sleman at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Friday night, April 16.

From the success of this competition, Menpora Amali really hopes that the permit for the League 1 and League 2 competitions for the 2021-2022 season can roll out soon.

"God willing, there will be. That's why I emphasize, (the implementation of health protocols, red) in the rest of this pre-season tournament we must protect it properly," said the Menpora stressing.

Menpora assessed that the Menpora Cup is a test to prove that Indonesian football competition can be held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Kemenpora, PT LIB, PSSI will also examine the study to measure the possibility of a limited number of spectators or supporters attending the stadium when the competition starts.

"This is driven by the many aspirations of the community to be able to watch live football matches again," said Menpora Amali.
