Submit To Court, NewJeans Member Business ADOR Does Not Have An Independent Contract

JAKARTA - HYBE's ADOR label submitted a request to the Seoul District Court to ban NewJeans members from making advertising contracts independently. The move comes after five NewJeans members declared the contract with ADOR was over.

This request was made so that no advertising contracts were made without ADOR's knowledge and prevented losses because they thought their exclusive contract was over. NewJeans previously stated that they had terminated the exclusive contract with ADOR.

"Last week, ADOR filed a petition at the Seoul District Court for a decision to maintain agency status and ban the signing of advertising contracts against NewJeans members," ADOR said on Monday, January 13.

"This ruling recognizes that ADOR is a contract-linked company exclusive until the first ruling was announced by a lawsuit filed on December 3 last year. We have filed this ruling to prevent confusion for third parties, such as advertisers, as members unilaterally declare their exclusive contract termination and continue to try to contact advertisers," he said.

The NewJeans who terminated the contract stated in their agreement with the company that there was a clause that the brand could terminate the contract when something was inappropriate.

This decision also reflects ADOR's intention to continue working with NewJeans. If confusion and damage continue in the industry as members' actions, the company's brand value will decline, lose its competitiveness in the industry. Even if the ruling later asserts that the contract is valid, it may not be possible to recover the losses that occurred," he said.
