Mataram Police Examine Head Of NTB Education And Culture Office Related To Extortion Cases
Mataram City Police Investigators examined the Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Cultural Education Office, Aidy Furqan, regarding the illegal levies (extortion) case in the procurement project using the 2024 special allocation fund (DAK).
Head of the Mataram Police Corruption Unit, Iptu I Komang Wilandra, in Mataram, said Monday that he was present before investigators to undergo examination as a witness.
"So, it is true that Mr. Kadis today was examined as a witness in the extortion case," Komang said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 13.
Investigators raised approximately 25 items of questions related to the extortion case. Aidy Furqan's examination in his capacity as a budget user (PA).
Aidy Furqan came to the Mataram Police on this day following up on the summons of the two police investigators. He was present at 08.45 WITA and ended the examination as a witness at 14.00 WITA.
Aidy Furqan when met by reporters admitted that he gave information to the police investigators.
"Alhamdulillah, I as a devout citizen, obey the rules. The law fulfills the summons from the Mataram Police today for questioning," he said.
He said that he apologized to investigators regarding his absence from the first summons, Monday (6/1).
"That on the 6th he could not attend for various clear reasons, everything was written to the Mataram Police, and today thank God he was able to fulfill the summons for examination for approximately 5 hours to be questioned regarding the incident that occurred in Dikbud," he said.
On the first call, the Head of the NTB Education and Culture Office was recorded unable to attend on the grounds of accompanying the Acting Governor of NTB during the working visit of the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon on Monday (6/1).
The Mataram Police handling the extortion case began with an arrest of AM on December 11, 2024. AM, who is now a suspect, was caught red-handed receiving IDR 50 million in cash in his position as Head of Vocational School at the NTB Education and Culture Office.
The Mataram Police Corruption Crime Unit Team arrested AM in the SMK Head room at the NTB Dikbud Service, shortly receiving cash in brown packages.
From the investigation, it was revealed that the cash was a fee that was requested by the implementation of the equipment procurement project at one of the Vocational Schools in Mataram City.
There was an allegation of a 5 to 10 percent withdrawal from the project value that occurred in every project implementation sourced from DAK. The fee is referred to as administrative money.
Aidy Furqan in this case is suspected of being involved. This was revealed from AM's verbal confession outside the examination.
