Bank QNB Indonesia Launches New Investment Products, Increases Sustainable Financial Commitment
PT Bank QNB Indonesia Tbk, a subsidiary of the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, QNB Group, launched new investment products, in collaboration with three leading companies in asset and investment management: PT Batavia Prosperindo Asset Management, PT Mandiri Investment Management, and PT Manulife Asset Management Indonesia.
The investment products offered by the Bank are now equipped with eight USD mutual fund products, namely Batavia Global ESG Sharia Equity USD, Batavia Technology Sharia Equity USD, Batavia USD Bond Fund, Mandiri Global Sharia Equity Dollar Class A, Mandiri Money Market USD, Manulife USD Fixed Income Class A, Manulife Shares Syariah ESG Transition Global Dollar Class A2, and Manulife Shares Syariah Asia Pacific Dollar US.
"Welcoming a new era in the domestic and global capital market, Bank QNB Indonesia launched USD mutual fund products with different investment strategies to further complement various investment products for loyal Bank customers," said Grace Luzar, Head of Retail Banking Bank QNB Indonesia, in a statement, quoted on Saturday 11 January.
"Having different risk profiles, these products can meet various customer risk appetites and provide optimal return opportunities," he added.
In the midst of global economic fluctuations, currency-based mutual funds allow customers to diversify portfolios and take advantage of the growth potential of global assets. These products also offer geographical diversification, providing access to promising markets such as the United States which has large technology companies; Asia Pacific which has a rapidly growing manufacturing sector, as well as the European market which is the pioneer of green economy initiatives or green economy. This broad diversification is expected to provide long-term investment stability for customers.
Products such as Batavia Global ESG Sharia Equity USD and Manulife Shares of Sharia ESG Global Transition of Class A US Dollars offered by Bank also support the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles that reflect Bank's commitment to sustainable finance.
ESG-based investment has shown a positive trend in recent years. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reports that under management (AUM) funds for ESG investment in Indonesia have reached IDR 8.2 trillion with 34 mutual fund products available as of June 2024. Meanwhile, globally, managed funds for investment with ESG principles are expected to reach 50 trillion US dollars by 2025.
