League Results 1: Persib Share Points With PSBS Biak 1-1

JAKARTA The ten Persib Bandung players survived the defeat when they played an away match to PSBS Biak headquarters for the continuation of the Indonesian League 1 season 2024/2025.

Both teams had to settle for sharing points because they closed their match with a final score of 1-1 at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura, Papua, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, evening WIB.

Persib already played with ten players when no one conceded the two goals. Their player Nick Kuippers was sent off after receiving two consecutive yellow cards.

The Dutchman could not continue the match for protesting strongly against referee Tomi Mangopa's decision when the second half match had only been running for six minutes.

The hosts then managed to take the lead first through Abel's goal Arga Badminton a quarter hours later. He made a small touch after the opposing goalkeeper failed to make a perfect save to stem Alexandro's header.

Video assistant referee (VAR) intervention was carried out because the referee's assistant lifted the offside bandera. However, checking then approved the goal.

Losing the number of players makes it difficult for Persib to reply. Luckily five minutes before normal time the match broke up, they could score a goal back through Tyronne Del Pino's free kick.

This result makes Maung Bandung keep their unbeaten record this season. The Bojan Hodak squad is now still comfortable at the top of the standings with a collection of 40 points.

In the following week, Persib got a home match schedule against Dewa United, while PSBS Biak will make a visit to PSM Makassar headquarters.
