Global Sales Of Mercedes-Benz Reach 2.3 Million Units In 2024, Medium Segment Rises

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz Group closed in 2024 by obtaining 2,389,000 units, a decrease of 4 percent compared to last year. Of the total number, cars traveling contributed a total of 1,983,000 units or decreased by 3 percent.

Chairman of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Ola Kallenius, said that his party will continue to offer products consistently so that sales will improve even though market conditions are now uncertain.

"We continue to consistently strengthen our portfolio with the launch of the largest product in the history of our company starting this year with the all-new CLA," Kallenius said on the Mercedes-Benz website, Saturday, January 11.

In the Top-End or high-class segment, this German manufacturer reaches 281,500 units where S-Class luxury sedan sales remain the best-selling. The car contributes to 50 percent in the market.

Meanwhile, the Core or medium segment contributed 1,167,100 units throughout 2024, an increase of 6 percent compared to previous gains. This result was driven by increased demand for E-Class and GLC.

In the Entry or lower segment, Mercedes-Benz collected sales of 534,800 units during 2024 consisting of impressive sales of A-Class, B-Class, and Smart brands.

Sales in the vans Mercedes-Benz segment reached 405,600 units, down 9 percent. These results are influenced by plans to stop the Metris or Vito model in the US as well as the change in the van model in size in Europe and China.

Speaking of electrification sales, the BEV segment contributed 204,600 units throughout 2024, down 22 percent and 19,500 units of which came from eVans.

The Asian region is the largest market for Mercedes-Benz by collecting 892,100 units, followed by Europe with 641,800 units, and North America with a total of 365,400 units.
