Megawati Accuses The KPK Of Only Obok-obok Hasto, Director Of Investigation: There Are 100 Cases Handled By 20 Task Forces

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has denied that it is only dealing with the bribery case for the interim replacement management (PAW) and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.

KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur Rahayu said that currently there are 100 corruption cases that must be handled. This number is only handled by 20 task forces.

"Each task force has an average of six to nine cases that have been handled," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 10.

Asep explained that the investigation into the alleged corruption could be seen from the witnesses who were summoned. He said the request for information was not only made in the Hasto case but others.

"Yesterday we (conducted, red) a press conference as well as Taspen. That's the case on the way," he said.

"So, not only the HK case. We are handling many cases," continued Asep.

The KPK emphasized that it was not the focus of certain suspects. The process that occurred was that investigators were looking for evidence in the form of information or other physical items.

Therefore, the actions of the suspect in the case handled can be clearly revealed. "We have to fulfill the elements of the article. Because the suspects are Pak HK and HM, yes, we focus on Pak HK and Pak HM. Not to others," he said.

Previously reported, PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri questioned why only the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto has been handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) recently.

This was conveyed by Megawati in her political speech during the PDIP 52nd Anniversary commemoration at the PDIP DPP party school, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Friday, January 10. Initially, he mentioned how the Constitutional Court (MK) was formed during his reign but was later used for certain purposes.

"My MK made it. Try it, it needs a Constitutional Court, I'm looking for the building myself. President e, it's there, what road is it. It's great. At that time, Mr. Jimmly, who I made (Jimmly Asshiddiqie, the chairman of the first Constitutional Court period 2003-2008) is now klehek. Served as a toy, well, that's right. That's the constitution," said Megawati.

After the Constitutional Court, the KPK was also mentioned by Megawati. The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia questioned the performance of the institution, only focusing on the bribery case for handling interim shifts (PAW) and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared Hasto.

"The KPK has no other work, hah, what is accused, only Mr. Hasto iku wae (that's all)," he said.

Hearing this, Hasto who was in the chair of the invitation smiled. "Because actually many are already suspects but meneng wae (silence). Every day I open the newspaper, maybe there are no additions. Nothing," said Megawati.
