Anies Asks DKI Provincial Government Employees Not To Join Bukber And Sahur Together
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked all DKI Jakarta Provincial Government employees, both Civil Servants (PNS) and non-PNS, not to participate in breaking the fast or sahur together during the month of Ramadan.
This is stated in the Circular of DKI Regional Secretary Marullah Matali Number 19 / SE / 2021. This Circular Letter was made in order to prevent and break the chain of spread of COVID-19.
"To the heads of regional apparatus or work units of regional apparatus to urge employees under your leadership not to carry out breaking fast or sahur activities with colleagues or other parties," said Marullah as quoted by SE on Friday, April 16.
Anies asked all DKI Provincial Government employees to break the fast or sahur independently or only with family at home. In addition, Anies also prohibited the heads of regional apparatus from holding breaking fast and sahur together.
"The heads of regional apparatus or work units in regional apparatus should not hold fast breaking or sahur activities with colleagues or other parties," he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also prohibited ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet from holding breaking the fast together which is often held in the month of Ramadan. This prohibition aims to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
"President @jokowi gave directions to the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, all Ministries / Agencies, not to hold an iftar together," said Presidential Spokesman Fadjroel Rachman quoted from his Twitter account, @fadjroel.
