Zainal-Inkong Ala Appointed By KPU As Elected Governor And Deputy Governor Of Kaltara

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) officially appointed Zainal A Paliwang and Ingkong Ala as candidate pairs (paslon) for Governor and Deputy Governor of Kaltara to be elected in the 2024 Pilkada.

This determination was conveyed at an open Plenary Meeting held at the Kaltara KPU building on Sengkawit street, Tanjung Selor, Bulungan, Thursday, January 9.

Chairman of the Kaltara KPU Hariadi Hamid said based on the recapitulation results of the Zainal-Ingkong Ala pair with the ZIAP tagline, the votes were the most in the election for governor and deputy governor of Kaltara 2024, namely 194,021 votes or 58.53 percent of the total valid votes.

"We hereby determine the candidate pair number 02, Zainal A Paliwang and Ingkong Ala as Governor and Deputy Governor of Kaltara for the period 2025-2030," said Hariadi Hamid.

Hariadi revealed, then the Kaltara KPU will submit the determination file to the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Kaltara Province which then proposes the inauguration schedule to the Central Government.

The reason is, the KPU does not have the authority to determine the schedule for the inauguration of the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Kaltara.

"Our job is to determine and submit the proposal file," he said.

"It should be noted that Pleno's determination was made after the Constitutional Court (MK) issued a Constitutional Case Registration Book (BRPK) which stated that the 2024 Kaltara Pilgub had zero disputes," added Hariadi.

Meanwhile, the elected Governor of Kaltara Zainal A Paliwang invited all Kaltara people to reunite after passing the 2024 Pilkada contestation.

"The contest is over, I and Ingkong Ala are ready to fight and serve to build Kaltara. We ask for prayers and support from all parties," said Zainal accompanied by Ingkong Ala.

Zainal-Ingkong Ala also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the organizers of the Pilkada and TNI-Polri for the successful implementation of the Pilkada in a safe and peaceful manner.

"We also thank the candidate pair number 1 (Sulaiman-Adri Patton) and candidate pair number 3 (Yansen TP-Suratno) during their contest in this election.

"We also apologize profusely if during the contestation there are things that are not pleasing to behavior or speech during the Pilkada process," he said.
