7 Prospective Umrah Congregants Fail To Leave Makkah Report Fraud Cases To Central Lombok Police
Central Lombok Police in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) received complaints from seven residents of Presak Village, Batukliang District, victims of fraud for prospective Umrah pilgrims because they were not dispatched to Makkah.
Head of Public Relations of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi, said that his party had received complaints from the public who were suspected of being victims of alleged fraud, which had not yet departed for Umrah.
"So the report has been received at the Resort Police, we will follow up later on the inspection process and wait for the position of the letter, because this report has just been submitted," he said in Central Lombok, Thursday, January 9, which was confiscated by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Head of Selojan Hamlet (Kadus) of Presak Ruslan Village in Central Lombok, he and residents came to report religious figures on suspicion of fraud against their citizens.
The religious figure was reported, because it was suspected that he had never dispatched the pilgrims to go public from 2019 to 2025, even though the congregation had deposited money.
"Residents were promised to go for Umrah. However, until now they have not been dispatched," he said.
This case began in 2019, this religious figure was invited as a lecturer in the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday in Presak Village.
Then at the end of the lecture, he offered the congregation that there was a cheap Umrah program or promo.
Where each prospective Umrah pilgrim is interested in only paying or depositing Rp. 20 million per person.
"On the basis of the offer from the reported party, there were several congregations who were interested and interested in participating in the Umrah program offered by the reported party," he said.
"At the time at the residence of the reported party, each of the reporters handed over the Umrah fee to the reported party themselves," he said.
The details of the money handed over directly by the seven reporting persons to the reported Rp 10 million each so that the total money handed over directly to the reported Rp70 million.
Furthermore, the reporters again handed over money to pay the Umrah fee to the reported party, so that each spent Rp. 20 million.
"There have been several times in the family of the reporters to ask for money to be returned by the reported party, but the reported party did not want to return the money," he said.
