Malaysia Open 2025: Febriana/Amallia Lose
JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's doubles pair, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, were immediately eliminated in the first round of the Malaysia Open 2025.
The fifth seed lost two straight games 14-21 and 14-21 against Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En-Tzu at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
"Obviously we are not satisfied with today's game. We died a lot on our own, many wrongly returned the ball, and the blow didn't fit," said Febriana.
This victory is revenge for the pair from China Taipei. Previously, they lost against Febriana/Amallia in the first competitive clash at the 2024 Korea Masters.

"Compared at the Korea Masters 2024, today the opponent is very ready. They can take advantage of opportunities when we are careless and not in a good performance," said Amalia.
Febriana/Amallia were the first Indonesian representatives to be eliminated from the BWF Super 1000 level event.
Their defeat made the Indonesian women's doubles just have to hope for Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
Febriana/Amallia will later be confirmed to be absent at the 2025 India Open which will take place next week. Their focus will be diverted to the Indonesia Masters 2025 on 21-26 January 2025 at Istora.
"We have to finalize the technique and strengthen the mentality of competing again," said Amalia.
So far, two Indonesian representatives have qualified for the second round. They are Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Lanny/Fadia.
