Meeting With Apple Boss, Minister Of Industry Agus: Pray For Good News

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita met with Apple representatives at the Office of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) today.

Representative Apple met the Minister of Industry for half an hour, before continuing negotiations with the Ministry of Industry's technical team.

The technical team in question is led by the Director General of Metal Industry for Transportation and Electronic Equipment (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta.

Meanwhile, the Apple official is Apple's Vice President of Global Policy Nick Amman.

"Nick is still above. Nick still wants to negotiate with the technical team. I, right, formed a technical team led by the Director General (Setia Diarta). Now the technical team is still meeting Nick for negotiations," Agus told reporters at the Ministry of Industry office, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 7.

Agus did not deny that Apple Inc had officially submitted its investment proposal to the government. However, he did not want to give a leak of how much value was offered.

"We received the official proposal yesterday on January 6. I officially received the official Apple letterhead, I received it yesterday," he said.

Apple sent 4 representatives to negotiate, including Apple's Vice President of Global Policy Nick Amman, while representatives from the Ministry of Industry amounted to 6 people.

When further confirmed about the results of the negotiations, Agus only answered briefly. "Just pray for good news," concluded Agus while entering his car.
