DPR Hajj Committee Visits The Palace, Reports The Cost Of Hajj 2025 Down To Prabowo
JAKARTA - The Working Committee (Panja) for the Hajj Fee of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 7.
The Working Committee wants to report a reduction in the Cost of Organizing Hajj (BPIH) and the 2025 Hajj Travel Fee (Bipih).
"We just report that the discussion of the Panja on financing for Hajj trips for 2025 has been completed. Of course, the committee trip that has determined this, we can make corrections to financing so far. So there has been a decline," said Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Marwan Dasopang who had arrived at the Palace to attend an internal meeting scheduled at 15.45 WIB, confiscated by Antara.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Hajj Committee Abdul Wachid and Deputy Chairperson of the Panja Haji Abidin Fikri have also arrived at the Palace.
Marwan explained, in terms of the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, there was an increase from Rp15,400 at the 2024 Hajj, to Rp16,000 perd US dollars this year. Then, the imposition of taxes from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will certainly increase the cost of organizing and traveling for Hajj.
However, Panja considered that there were a number of costs that were not needed so that the cost of Hajj could be corrected and there would be a decrease.
Based on the meeting of the Ministry of Religion and the Panja for Hajj Fees of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, the 2025 Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) has been set at IDR 89.4 million, and prospective pilgrims pay Hajj Travel Fees (Bipih) of IDR 55.4 million per person.
When compared to the 2024 Hajj fee, BPIH 2025 decreased by around Rp. 4 million from BPIH 2024 amounting to Rp. 93.4 million per congregation. Then, Bipih 2025 decreased by Rp614,420.82 from Bipih 2024 amounting to Rp56 million.
"The burden of the congregation, which last year was around Rp. 56 million, is now only Rp. 55 million, minus the initial list money of Rp. 25 million. Then the congregation gets a virtual account of around Rp. 2.1 million, so the congregation will pay Rp. 27.9 million depending on the distance that is the embarration," said Marwan.
According to Marwan, this effort to correct or reduce the cost of Hajj is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's direction which emphasizes that the cost of Hajj in 2025 must be a decrease, which is followed by better services for the congregation.
