Toddlers And Two Other Victims Disappeared In Tanjung Balai Karimun Waters
The joint SAR team continues to search for three victims who were missing due to a long boat collision in the waters of Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands Province (Kepri).
This incident was first reported on Monday, January 6, at 06:26 WIB, when the Tanjungpinang SAR Office Com Center received information from POCC Singapore regarding a ship accident on Karimun Besar Island. Six victims were found floating in the waters.
"The six victims were quickly evacuated by the Oil Tanker Navi8 Guards at the scene to ensure their safety," said Head of the Tanjungpinang SAR Office, Fazzli, Monday night.
However, three other people are still missing, including a 2.5-year-old toddler named Nur Asyifa. The identities of the other two victims are still unknown.
Meanwhile, six victims were found, four victims with minor injuries were treated at the Tanjung Balai Karimun Lanal Command Headquarters and two other victims were referred to the Emergency Installation (IGD) of Muhammad Sani Hospital for serious injuries.

The search operation by the joint SAR Team involved ships in the waters around Tanjung Balai Karimun. Investigations were also carried out to determine the cause of the accident.
"We will continue the search until a bright spot is found. We also urge all parties in the waters of Tanjung Balai Karimun to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities for the safety of shipping," said Fazzli.
