BYD Prepares Strong Challenger Toyota Prado In Australia, Model Launches Next Year?
JAKARTA - Build Your Dream (BYD) is expected to be preparing strong challenger Toyota Prado in Australia. The model to be launched is Fangcheng Bao Bao 5, which is seen testing the road.
Quoting from the Drive page, Saturday, January 4, 2025, the model that will fill the Plug-in Hybrid SUV segment has five seats caught on camera testing the road in Melbourne. The spy photo was shared on Facebook's social media page.
It looks like the car is covered in camouflage, but it is estimated that the model is Fangcheng Bao 5 which is indeed reliable on the off-road route.
In specifications, the car has a length dimension of 4,890 mm, a width of 1,970 mm, a height of 1,920 mm with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

Bao 5 is powered by a 1.5T high-power engine that supports low-speed four-wheeled electric driving. The system has a maximum power of more than 500 kW (680 hp) and a maximum torque of 760 Nm. This one car battery is claimed to have a cruising power of up to 125 km in CLTC counts.
Regarding prices, in China this car is priced starting from 239,800 yuan or around Rp530 million. Of course, if you enter Australia, the price is much more expensive because it is imported in full from China.
