KPK Denies Internal Parties Leaked OTT Harun Masiku
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) denied that there were internal parties who leaked the interim replacement bribery operation (OTT) for members of the DPR RI so Harun Masiku fled in 2020. No evidence has been found by the Supervisory Board or Inspectorate on this accusation.
"Until now, neither the Inspectorate nor the Council have found any evidence of leakage carried out by KPK employees," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters, Saturday, January 4.
Tessa explained that this alleged obstruction actually occurred from external parties. In fact, there are already suspects who have been named.
The anti-corruption commission is known to have named the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in the obstruction to the investigation into the alleged bribery of PAW members of the Indonesian House of Representatives involving Harun Masiku.
"Whether there will be other suspects, I still can't convey either from internal or external," he said.
"We will see later because the process is still being explored, please be patient, everything will be opened in due course," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.
As previously reported, Harun Masiku, who is a former PDIP candidate, is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through the interim shift (PAW).
Harun is currently unknown or has been a fugitive since 2020 or for four years. He escaped the KPK's hand arrest operation (OTT).
In an effort to search, the KPK has now updated its wanted list (DPO) on behalf of Harun Masiku. The file was signed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, on December 5, 2024 and registered with the number: R/5739/DIK.01.02/01-23/12/2024.
In addition, the anti-corruption commission again named two suspects after developing the bribery case of Harun Masiku. They are the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah as PDIP cadres and lawyers.
Hasto was later named a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of carrying out a number of ways to make the case unfinished, one of which asked Harun to destroy his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was held.
Even though he was a suspect, Hasto and Donny had not been detained but had been prevented from leaving the country for six months. The same prohibition also applies to the former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) of the era of President Joko Widodo, Yasonna H Laoly.
