BRIS Shares Print Highest Return In 2024, Compared To Other Banking Issuers

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk or BRIS became the issuer with the highest "return" among all banking issuers in the Indonesian capital market throughout 2024.

BRIS's share price at the end of trading in 2024 was recorded at 2,730. This achievement has increased prices by 56.9 percent in the past year (year-to-date/ytd) or since trading on the first day of trading in 2024 at the level of 1,740.

"The year 2024 is a year full of challenges as well as opportunities for BSI. Thank God we got through very well. It can be seen in BRIS issuers in the capital market, which shows solid stock performance and is the main choice for investors," said BSI President Director Hery Gunardi quoting Antara.

BRIS also recorded a price-to-book value (PBV) of 2.90 and a price-to-earning (P/E) ratio of 19.05, making it the most premium bank issuer among government-owned banks.

The bank is optimistic that this valuation reflects market confidence in BRIS's business strategy and sustainable growth.

In addition, BRIS scored a capitalization of IDR 125.93 trillion. With that, BRIS is included in the top 5 issuers of banks in terms of market capitalization (market capitalization/market cap).

Hery believes that this achievement further strengthens BRIS' position as one of the main players in the national banking industry.

BRIS also believes that it records the highest performance in terms of YTD returns compared to other state-owned banks such as Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), Bank Mandiri (BMRI), and Bank Negara Indonesia (BBNI).

Among Islamic banks, BRIS also leads in terms of valuation and return, far beyond competitors such as Bank BTPN Syariah (BTPS) and Bank Panin Syariah (PNBS).

With this achievement, the merged bank, which has not even reached 4 years, has further strengthened its position as a leader in the Islamic banking industry as well as one of the main pillars of the Indonesian economy.

"This achievement proves that our strategy to integrate sharia principles with digital innovation and quality services has yielded results," he said.

Hery also emphasized BSI's strong commitment to continue to provide the best for all stakeholders, both for customers and investors, as well as for the state.

"As the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia, BRIS is committed to providing inclusive, innovative and competitive sharia financial services," he said.
