Babel Tin-Nontimah Exports Increase 13.21 Percent To 227.88 Million US Dollars
JAKARTA - BPS for the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) recorded the export value of tin and non-lead from the Babel Islands during November 2024 amounting to 227.88 million US dollars or an increase of 13.21 percent compared to the previous month's 201.28 million US dollars.
"The export of the Babel Islands is still dominated by tin to various countries," said Head of BPS for the Province of the Babylon Islands, Toto Haryanto Silitonga, quoting Antara.
He said the export value of tin commodities in November 2024 was 171.39 million US dollars, an increase of 0.46 percent compared to the previous month's 170.62 million US dollars.
Likewise, non-lead exports were 56.48 million US dollars, an increase of 84.18 percent compared to the previous month.
"When compared to the same month last year (year-on-year/yoy) the value of non-leading exports increased by 94.50 percent," he said.
He stated that lead from the Province of the Babylon Islands was mostly exported to countries in Asia, where China became its main destination country. Throughout January-November 2024, 29.96 percent of tin exports were sent to this country with a value of 357.45 million US dollars.
Furthermore, tin exports to India amounted to 22.02 percent and South Korea 14.67 percent, Singapore and Japan. The five main countries for tin exports played a role of 83.70 percent of the total export of lead from the Babel Islands Province to the rest of the world.

"The total export value of the five destination countries from January to November 2024 is 998.66 million US dollars," he said again.
He added that cumulatively from January to November 2024 compared to the same period the previous year (c-to-c), there was a contraction in growth to the 5 largest countries for tin export destinations, which was 20.93 percent.
"Childs contracted by 38.85 percent and Japan also contracted by 23.58 percent. Singapore is the country with the deepest contraction of up to 43.83 percent," he also said.
